Worship of Ancestor - As respect for elders and ancestors many Confucian people practice ancestor worship, this could be done in the home, at temples and/or at the graves of relatives. Confucian practice in ancestor worship include shrines dedicated to elders who have passed away. Shrines to ancestors often have a photo of the elder who has passed away and also includes an incense-stick holder. People usually kneel at the shrine and put the burning incense in the holder.

Temple Worship - Chinese people visit Confucian temples to show their respect for Confucius and to ask for a blessing. Temple rituals often include burning of incense and kneeling and bowing before a photo of Confucius or an important ancestor. Offerings and donations are made to the temple.
