Confucianism was founded around 500 B.C.E in China. A philosopher named Kongzi, also known as Confucius, founded Confucianism. Confucianism is based on Confucius' teachings that were developed after his death by Mencius and his other students. Confucius' students wrote a book called the Analects after he died which had Confucius' teachings and beliefs. Approximately 6 million people follow the religion. To some people, Confucianism is a philosophy and to other it is a religion.
